Our Story

Mother and daughter, Kathy Twombly and Karen Meeks, opened the store in Wathena, Kansas in 2003. Parker House was named in honor of their
Grandmother and Great Grandmother Matie Parker. They since have relocated the store to 517 Commercial Street in Atchison, Kansas. They opened Parker House, Inc. so they would be able to work together daily while doing something they both love - shopping and decorating with treasures. Kathy and Karen truly love meeting all the customers and treat them like family. They want all who enter to feel peaceful and relaxed as they shop and visit. Later, they opened the Parker House Café. They work together to prepare everything
from scratch, including homemade rolls, pies, cobblers, real mashed potatoes, and a special entree that changes daily. The Café is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Reservations are not required, but if you have a large group, they would be glad to work with you to accommodate your special needs. Parker House, Inc. also shares the building with Lintiques, Inc. Owned and operated by Linda Jeschke and Anita Young, Lintiques Inc is an antique and pre-owned furniture and decor store. Whether you are looking for that special piece of furniture, artwork, or
gift, you can be sure you will find it at Parker House, Inc or Lintiques, Inc. We extend a special invitation for you to come visit Parker House, Inc. and enjoy a day of shopping, dining, and relaxing with us Parker House style!
